Evidence

Evidence is a collaborative photographic project by Aman Aheer and Puer Deorum that challenges notions around access and caste hierarchy. The project considers the parallels between the bollard (used as dividing mechanisms across urban spaces) and the lingam (an abstract form representing the Hindu deity Shiva). Captured in East London at night on a film camera, the project reimagines objects of demarcation as sites of convergence through ephemeral and material interventions. The body of work collapses the distinctions between staged photographs and documented performance, and the boundaries of public and sacred space.
